kids today

in trolling the internet for something to write about today, i came across more depressing breast news. now child pornography is, sadly, nothing new, but this particular story certainly puts a new spin on it: can you charge the subject of the images in question with child pornography if they are the photographers?

a philadelphia appeals court is currently grappling with this decision, as sexting has become a new fad. the images in question are of three girls: two are 12 and in their training bras, while the third is 16 wrapped in a towel with her tits exposed.

when wyoming county district attorney george skumanick jr. had threatened to prosecute the girls back in 2008, he said he’d let them off the hook if they took special reeducation classes and wrote essays about why sexting is wrong, but the girls’ parents won a lower court ruling that blocked the district attorney, who appealed to the higher court.

um, what? your children send out pictures that were obviously sent with some sort of sexual agenda and instead of taking the easy way out and reprimanding your children on how NOT to behave like little prostatots you decide to take the issue to court? because while you think you’re probably “protecting” your children by refusing to let some guy from wyoming tell you how to raise your kids, you’re really just showing the world how unfit you are as parents and that this sexting incident is but a blip on your children’s trajectory into teen pregnancies, abusive boyfriends, and the imminent emotional issues that no therapist will ever be able to cure.

way to go, mom and dad. way to go.
