as far as breasts are concerned, some women were not created equal. depending on your preference, some may be larger, some may be smaller, and some may be just right. then there is also the matter of the size of each breast; some may differ in size only slightly in relation to the other, while in others it’s more obvious.
meet dannii johnson, a british teen who at 13 first noticed her breasts were two different sizes: her left breast measured an a cup, while her right was a b. but the right one continued to grow to a d—her left one stayed the same.
now i’m sure you are aware of just how fragile a teenager’s psyche is—specifically a girl’s, and specifically regarding her breasts. this is the stuff that inferiority complexes are born out of! (hello, tuff titties!) but do you really think it’s safe to suggest a 15-year-old girl get breast implants? even if it’s just one implant? that’s what a psycologist and a few plastic surgeons suggested that dannii do to hide her case of neurofibromatosis, a condition where benign nerve tissues of tumors grow, in danni’s case, beneath the breasts.
at the moment there is no cure for nf, but wouldn’t you want to remove the lumps before suggesting something crazy like advocating a teenager get a breast implant and then see how her body reacts? apparently not, as surgeon venkat ramakrishna said the surgery was necessary to correct a “major deformity. growing up with only one breast causes severe psychological trauma to a 16-year-old,” ramakrishna said. “they can’t take part in sports or socialise with their peers. it can make them very reclusive and withdrawn.”
yeah, doc, no shit she’d go through some psychological trauma, but i’m not so sure that plastic surgery is the best way to cope with her condition at the moment. according to dannii, though, she is feeling “normal” now and looks forward to go shopping for bras.
well, good luck, dannii, because it’s still not as easy as you think.
